Leeds 3 v Walsall 0
Walsall03
Leeds United recorded their seventh successive home win as goals from Luciano Becchio and Fabian Delph secured a 3-0 victory over Walsall.
The duo struck in the second half - Delph bagging a brilliant brace - to help Leeds capitalise on a dominant first-half display and maintain their excellent run of form at Elland Road.
Possession during the first 45 minutes belonged almost entirely to Leeds, and Delph and Neil Kilkenny brought decent saves from Walsall goalkeeper Clayton Ince, but despite the fact that Walsall's impact was minimal, the visitors surprisingly enjoyed the better chances.
Jabo Ibehre forced Casper Ankergren into an excellent block after Troy Deeney's cross found him unmarked six yards from goal, and Ibehre failed by inches to produce the finishing touch to another quick attack before the break.
But Becchio scored on 46 minutes when a Delph cross deflected into his path, and Delph added a second goal on 65 minutes when he ran on to Robinson's pass and drilled a sweet finish into the top corner of Ince's net.
The young midfielder then produced another superb finish on 87 minutes to cap an excellent personal performance and an emphatic win.

Leeds Manager Asks Fans To Be Patient
Gary McAllister02
GARY McALLISTER has called on Leeds United fans to follow the lead of his players and buy into the passing philosophy that has yielded six consecutive wins on home soil.
The Elland Road club moved up to fourth place in League One on Tuesday night with a victory over Leyton Orient that neatly encapsulated the story of their season to date satisfactory success tempered by defensive flaws.

Against a side without a win in seven outings, United created a host of chances and could have won by a huge margin.

On the flipside, however, the Londoners could also have claimed the points with David Lucas being forced into making two excellent saves and substitute Ryan Jarvis missing two gilt-edged opportunities in the closing stages.

The defensive frailties that had seen Leeds concede 10 goals in the four games immediately before the visit of Orient contributed to a strangely nervous atmosphere among a group of fans who had seen their team defeat the last five visitors to Elland Road.

McAllister described the atmosphere as anxious and has called on supporters to remain patient as his side continue to hone the passing style that has replaced the more direct approach favoured by his predecessor Dennis Wise.

The United manager said: "There was a little feeling of anxiety (against Orient). We have got to calm down. We have played 12 games and, of course, we want to be sitting on top of the league, but there has to be a realisation that we cannot just turn up and expect to roll teams over.

"Hopefully, the three points will calms things down a bit. There was no anxiety from the players, they stood up to be counted."

Leeds 2 Leyton Orient 1
leyton03
Leeds United produced a spirited fightback from a goal down to claim a 2-1 victory over Leyton Orient at Elland Road.
An own goal and a strike from Luciano Becchio gave Leeds the spoils and saw the club recovered immediately from Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Millwall.
United were given the chance to open the scoring after only 10 minutes when Orient midfielder JJ Melligan was penalised for handling Ben Parker's cross inside the box.
Jermaine Beckford took the penalty but lost his footing as he struck the ball, driving a shot high over the crossbar, and Orient took advantage by breaking the deadlock in the 36th minute.
Dean Morgan got the better of Parker on the right wing and drove a low shot beyond the reach of David Lucas, but the visitors' lead lasted for only two minutes.
Beckford's cross forced Stephen Purches to turn the ball into his own net as Becchio awaited the delivery, and Becchio struck himself with a header in first-half injury-time to turn the scoreline on its head.
Beckford hit the crossbar at the start of the second half and drove another glorious chance wide, and United were worthy winners after a vast improvement in their performance after the break.
